Description: Emergency/Expedient Decontamination Kits are utilized for for hybrid decontamination approaches to minimize the use of water and the resulting runoff during incidents. These kits typically utilize absorbent towels, micro-fiber towels or mitts impregnated with activated charcoal and other emerging technologies that support hybrid decontamination procedures.

ImportantFeatures: Kits should require minimal space for deployment and be prepared to allow for expedient deployment with minimal personnel.

Operating Considerations: The use of these kits results in waste that contains hazardous materials, such as absorbent towels or pads. The waste should be disposed of appropriately.

Training Requirements: NFPA 470, Chapter 6 or Chapter 8
Initial Training: Minimal (<1 day)
Sustainment Training: Minimal (<1 day)
